I think part of me needed a big storm in my life. A couple of months ago I went through something that really cut to my core, but that time forced me to think about what I really want in life and how I'm going to make it happen. I narrowed down my laundry list of a bucket list to the following:
1. Build a business that will change the world.
2. Reach my full fitness/health potential
For the most part every other little thing I want to do and accomplish falls under one of these two umbrellas. As this blog is part of #2 let's move to that. Monday's workout included:
AM
30 minute fasted walk
PM
60 minute spinning workout (included various intervals: high speed, standing and seated climbs, recovery, etc.) Some of the key songs that got me through the workout?
Thank you Pandora for the variety!
4x15 Hyperextension
4x15 Side Bends
3x12 walking lunge
3x12 Barbell stiff leg deadlift
4x20 Physio Ball crunch
4x15 leg curls
4x40 Russian Twist
What's important to note is that I'm doing more sets with higher reps. I'm doing this because my goal for the next 8 weeks is to focus on toning and fat loss. The other option would be building muscle and strength. This would require a different type of diet and a different training methodology. Due to the extend of running I will be doing, attempting to build extensive amounts of muscle would go to waste because of the type of cardio. (I am also starting a site that will include articles and fitness/health tips on topics such as this so please stay tuned.)
I'm already feeling the soreness, but I'm motivated and staying strong. You have to focus on the positive and see everything as a challenge you can overcome. I am a big believer that you would never have anything thrown at you unless it can be overcome. Tonights workout should be good: 4 mile run and weights for back & light lower body (kettle bell swings, etc.). Stay tuned for the workout and the amazing Kale & Potato soup we made!
