The first thing I want to say is that Sunday's should be always be a healthy mixture of productivity and relaxation. There isn't enough time in the day to not get at least a few things done, and way too much on our minds to not give ourselves a little bit of a break. We woke up early to run to the grocery store, hardware store, take pics of a house we're thinking about putting an offer on, worked on Synergia's blog, and took a nap while watching Harry Potter (Yes. Harry Potter.).
Synergia is all about allowing the public to turn their everyday physical activities (including walking around shopping, riding your bike to work, or training for a marathon) into charitable donations for other health and wellness charities. So you would be able to raise money for the Aids or diabetes for every mile you log with the mobile app. We're still designing and fundraising for the development of the app, but for now we're building a presence through social media including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and running a blog that focuses on a variety of health, fitness, and wellness topics. We have a temporary website that we are also working on revamping until the official website can be launched.
It's a "project" that I've been working on for several years and it's only been within the last year that it has moved beyond a project and into a business. It originally started as a school project in a class I was taking. Long story short, I am the only original group member that stayed with the project and after trying to do all of it myself I finally found a business partner that has helped register it as an official 501(c)3 Non-Profit. We are recognized by the state of California as a non-profit and we are currently waiting for our Federal Tax ID number from the IRS so we can begin a Kickstarter campaign, start approaching businesses for partnerships, and apply for grants. I'm super excited about its potential and how far it has come.
My diet and training is changing quite a bit due to my desire to incorporate the branding tied to Synergia into every aspect of my personal life. My goal is to live the brand I am creating and that all begins with living a healthy, active lifestyle. This includes diet, staying active, and spreading the word. The Ragnar event I am training for is my first event, but the goal is to register for a number of events next year and use those to approach businesses for sponsorship and fundraising purposes for Synergia.
If you're interested in learning more about Synergia and how you can get involved I would love to tell you more and see what kind of partnership we can work out. Off to finish up my Sunday with some more Synergia work, cleaning, meal planning, and a workout at the gym. Don't forget that you do have the power to change the world. As the Dalai Lama said, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." It all happens with the decision to change, to act, to run, walk, with one meal, one smile, one positive thought... it only takes one. As Synergia Effect stands for: Change the World One Mile at a Time.
